President & CEO
Isaac Rodriguez joined The Provident Loan Society as president & CEO in 2013. At the time, Provident was an organization with an illustrious history, but needed to modernize their operations, overhaul their marketing efforts, and expand their customer base in order to stay competitive.
With his extensive banking and not-for-profit management background, Isaac was tailor-made for the position. He leads Provident Loan from the perspective of an experienced business owner, board member, mentor, and community banker.
Isaac personifies the vision of Provident Loan’s philanthropic founders—who include J.P. Morgan and Cornelius Vanderbilt—to offer individuals and businesses short-term loan alternatives without the high interest rates of payday lenders, check-cashing companies, and commercial pawnshops.
Under his leadership, Provident Loan is operating efficiently again and greatly expanded its community awareness through popular print, TV, and radio ads.
Isaac is an accomplished business leader with over 25 years in the banking industry. His expertise in relationship management, lending, credit analysis, sales, and marketing enable him to successfully navigate the multitude of issues that the organization faces on a daily basis. Prior to joining Provident Loan, he held senior positions with Banco Santander, Sovereign Bank, JP Morgan Chase, Bank of New York, and GE Commercial Finance.
In addition to his solid financial background, Isaac is an actor and performance artist, using improvisation techniques to help his staff improve their business management, customer service, and communication skills. He appears in Provident Loan’s popular television commercials and does the voice-over for their radio spots, in both English and Spanish. Isaac is also a professional magician, known for including magic to enliven his business meetings and seminars.
Isaac is an active volunteer for many community and charitable organizations. He serves on the board of the AND Theatre Company and The Stationers Golf Association, and is a Speakers Bureau member for the Sports and Arts in Schools Foundation. He conducts magic shows at community events, fundraisers, children’s hospital, and VA hospitals, and was twice elected President of the Parent Assembly #1 of the Society of American Magicians.
Isaac received his liberal arts degree from Stony Brook University and has a Green Belt Certification in Six Sigma. He also completed graduate level courses in computer science, business law, and marketing from Hofstra University.
